Merchant Quarter - Heat-Reducing solar film application
The North facing lift lobbies of the Merchant Quarter residential building in Auckland were becoming very hot in the summer and increasingly uncomfortable for residents waiting for lifts. The client approached us to find a solar film that could help reduce this heat build-up. To get real data, we applied a Heat-Reducing solar film to the Level seven lobby. For the nextweek, temperature data was recordedin the lift lobbies on each floor. The temperature difference ranged from between 3 to 7 degrees cooler in the lift lobby with the film fitted. The client then requested the film be fitted to the rest of the building lift lobbies.
